The students at Illawarra Sports High School have many opportunities to perform in front of an audience. This helps to build their confidence and performance skills.

The major school performance, "Berkeleys Got Talent". Held annually and showcases a range of students talents from singing, dance and solo and group instrumentalists. Students learn a musical instrument and participate in instruction by musicians from the Wollongong Conservatoruim of Music as part of the school band. There are also opportunities to be part of the choir or vocal groups. Students are encouraged to represent the school at various functions and major musical events such as the Southern Stars Arena Spectacular. In recent years Jackson Smith and Zachary Tynan Nagel have been featured artists at this event.
