COVID-19 Update

As of 3.30pm 23rd March, 2020.

Dear parents & caregivers,

As expected the current advice around COVID-19 is continually being updated and the situation is very fluid. The advice from the Department of Education is to keep children home from school if possible, however schools will remain open.

• The advice is that parents who work in essential services and need their students supervised can send them to school, all other students should remain at home.

• The same online learning will be provided to students who attend school or remain at home. A supervision roster will be set up at school and will look very different to the regular timetable.

• Our staff are setting up Google classroom - an online learning platform. Please encourage your child to check their school email so they can register for google classroom.

• There will further advice soon regarding assessment tasks and the HSC going forward.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

• Students need to check their school portal and email accounts regularly.

• Accounts are: firstname.lastname@education.nsw.gov.au. (This is the same account students use to log in to computers and laptops at school).

• Students have been shown how to access this at school.

• Students can also download the Google Classroom App.

• Help is also at the 2020 Parents Guide to Google Classroom. (Link on Facebook and the school app).

CHANGED EVENTS - As at 23rd March 2020

• Canteen orders only due to uncertainty regarding school numbers

• Naplan, Southern Stars & Top Blokes & Creating Chances Programs are cancelled

• Year 7 Vaccinations are postponed

• Year 10 Work Experience is cancelled

• All TSDP training is cancelled.

• All school sport; competitions, gala days & representative etc are cancelled until further notice.

TAFE & UOW

• Students at TAFE or doing an evet course need to contact their provider for updates on cancellations or online learning.

• Students doing a SBAT, work placement or Trainee-ship need to contact their employee for cancellations or updates. Please inform Mr King at school of any changes.
