Dear parents and carers of ISHS students,
I am writing to you as relieving Principal, as Mr Gary Hampton is on planned leave for the remainder of Term 3.
Welcome to a very unusual start to the term, which begins on Tuesday 13th July for students. ISHS will be returning to school under Level 4 school restrictions which encourages limited interactions between staff and students. Until further notice, all lessons will be delivered via online learning using Google Classroom and Zoom platforms due to government stay at home orders. Teachers will communicate directly with students, much like they did during the period of online learning in 2020.
Teachers have been working hard to ensure minimal impact from changes to school routine. While there will no doubt be challenges, we trust that we can work together to do our part to stop the spread of Covid-19.

Regular updates will be posted on the school Facebook pages and also the school app. Where possible emails will be sent to parents.

Relieving Principal
All lessons will be delivered via online learning. There will be no face-to-face lessons (see below for Year 12 practical subjects). Students are expected to engage in online learning and work to the school timetable.
There will be limited staff at school to minimally supervise students who are unable to stay at home. Students who come to school will be working on their online learning in a classroom.
All staff and students MUST wear a mask. This includes while working in a classroom, while mingling and while travelling on public transport. Students are to bring a mask to wear and will be expected to wear it according to the current health regulations.
Students MUST socially distance at all times and will be required to have staggered break times to reduce social contact. Break times will not include physical activity to reduce social interactions. Students will be permitted to stretch their legs and use the bathroom.
The canteen will be CLOSED during Level 4 restrictions.
If you need to contact the school, please phone the office on 4271 1099. Non-essential visitors will not be permitted on site.
Do not come to school if you are unwell. If you have symptoms while at school you will be sent home. You will need to show a negative Covid test result and be symptom free before returning to school.
Upcoming events have been postponed/cancelled, including: Southern Stars rehearsals and performances, TSDP training, events and games and all CHS/All Schools events schedules for weeks 1 to 3.
YEAR 12 STUDENTS:
Year 12 Trial Examinations will continue as normal in weeks 3-4 (they have not been postponed at this stage).
Year 12 students who are completing Major Works will have access to regular practical lessons on site. You will receive information from your teacher regarding your timetabled lessons. Please contact your classroom teacher if you have any further questions.
