Year 12 students operate the schools cafe'ish every Friday week B at recess. Parents of Cafe-ish students are encouraged to see the students operating a realistic business.
Hospitality students participate in regular catering events the first one being the Year 5/6 open night where we made and served delicious pizzas and espresso coffees.
Upcoming excursions:
- Year 11 Exploring Early Childhood in March are going to Ikea Tempe to research their Nursery Assessment Task.
- Term 2 will be visiting the birthing centre at Wollongong Hospital.
- Year 11 and 12 Hospitality students will be going to New Zealand in May to experience the hospitality of Queenstown.
- Year 9 Food Technology are planning and cooking a menu item for the canteen special every Wednesday during Term 1 & 3. This is an assignment and students have to select healthy food choices as part of the Food Selection and Health focus unit of study. We also plan to go on an excursion to Wollongong Botanical Gardens to experience the Bush Story Program which introduces students to Bush Tucker and Indigenous Culture.
- Years 10 & 11 Food Technology students will be given the opportunity to attend the Good Food and Wine Show in Sydney in June to experience a wide variety of exciting new foods, flavours and technology advancements in cooking styles whilst also observing celebrity chefs creating gastronomic delights.
