HSIE Excursions

The HSIE Faculty prides itself with enhancing student outcomes and experiences through the use of excursions to promote student understanding of course content. This page will promote the amazing work of the HSIE teachers in organising these learning opportunities as well as demonstrate the engagement of students in these activities.

Year 12 Ancient History & Modern History @ University of Sydney Lecture Day

Year 12 Modern and Ancient History had a great day being inspired at the University of Sydney. The students sat through four lectures which covered the content and exam preparation for their upcoming HSC.

Year 10 Geography @ Minnamurra River

Year 10 students enjoyed having kayaks and canoes as their mode of transport to fieldwork sites on the Minnumurra River.

Year 12 Ancient History @ The Nicholson Museum

Year 12 Ancient History attended the Nicholson Museum on Tuesday 17th May to undertake an intensive HSC primary evidence course. This museum houses the largest collection of Egyptian artifacts in Australia. The students were able to handle (with gloves) some items dating back over 4000 years. Mitchell was an amazing guide who had an answer for every question when viewing rare artifacts from Ancient Egypt, Ancient Rome and Ancient Greece. The most memorable parts of the day were learning about the brutal life of a Roman soldier and seeing ancient Egyptian mummies and coffins.

Year 12 Modern History @ The Jewish Museum
