COVID-19 Update

As of 3pm Friday 27th March

Dear parents & caregivers,

The latest Department of Education advice is :

·         Parents are encouraged to keep their children at home.

·         There is only one unit of work, whether the student is at home or at school.

·         No child will be turned away from school.

·         Staff will be working from home 50% of the time and onsite 50% of time. Staff will still be available during school hours to be contacted via Google Classroom or DET email

Staff, students, children and families should:

·         Practice good hand and sneeze/cough hygiene.

·         Stay home if they have travelled overseas or are unwell or have been in contact with a person with confirmed COVID-19.

In regards to roll marking and attendance from Monday 30th March –

·         Flexible –Students who are at home engaged in learning, self-isolating or returning from overseas and self-isolating – explained absence.

·         Absent - Students absent and who are not engaged in learning - unexplained absence. Head teachers and year advisers will be contacting parents and guardians of students who have not yet engaged with work, either online or print packs from Monday 30th March.

·         Sick - Students who are absent and parents have contacted the school to say they are sick - explained absence.

School will be in contact via phone with parents who have not yet engaged with their learning either online or printed packs.

 

YEARS 7-10 ASSESSMENT

1.      Any task due before 16th March must have been completed and handed in.

2.      Assessment tasks that can be completed at home will continue to be set and have strict due dates as per normal. No practical or in class tasks will take place.

 

YEARS 11-12 ASSESSMENT

1.      For year 11 and 12 students we await clarification from NESA.

2.      Further decisions will be made by the end of week 11

 

ONLINE LEARNING PROTOCOLS

·         If you cannot access Wi-Fi or devices from home – contact the front office to collect a pack of printed work to complete.

·         Students are only to communicate with teachers via Google Classroom (GC) or DET email.

·         Students must only login and open documents using their Department of Education email. They will not to be granted access through any other means.

·         Students will be able to access GC through the website on their computer or through the GC App on other devices, including their phone.

·         Teachers will respond to student messages and questions during school hours.

·         Students should complete work as per their timetable.

·         All lessons will be available prior to the scheduled lesson on their timetable.
