COVID-19 Update

As of 12.00pm Tuesday March 24^th, 2020

Dear parents & caregivers,

As expected the current advice around COVID-19 is continually being updated and the situation is changing constantly. The current advice from the Department of Education is to keep children home from school if possible. However;

·         The advice is that parents who work in essential services and need their students supervised can send them to school, all other students should remain at home.

·         The same online learning will be provided to students who attend school or remain at home.

·         Scheduled class tests or assessments will not run this term, however information regarding senior assessments will be sent out soon.

·         There will further advice soon regarding the HSC going forward.

Students @ Home

·         Are working off Google Classroom.

·         If no you have no internet or device access at home, you can request printed copies of work from school by contacting the front office.

Students @ School

·         Are placed into groups of less than 9 students, they remain in the same classroom for every period. Each student is allocated the same laptop for each day that student is at school.

·         While at lunch and recess, students will be limited to 3 supervised playground areas. Staff will be enforcing social distancing, passive activities only, no ball games.

·         School canteen is closed as of Wednesday 25^th March.

·         Normal school uniform and school rules still apply.

·         Normal sign out and early/late leave procedures also apply.

GOOGLE CLASSROOM

·         Students need to check their school portal and email accounts regularly.

·         Accounts are: firstname.lastname@education.nsw.gov.au. (This is the same account students use to log in to computers and laptops at school).

·         Students have been shown how to access this at school.  

·         Students can also download the Google Classroom App onto their phones.

·         Help is also at the 2020 Parents Guide to Google Classroom. (Link on Facebook and the school app).
